The musical uses a reverse chronological structure to tell the story of a composer’s journey from an idealistic young man to a success-driven adult. It centres on his evolving relationships with two close friends, gradually revealing the tension between dreams, friendship, and reality.
Due to a limited design budget, I couldn’t incorporate complex sets or large installations. Instead, I used the shifting position of a fake piano and year-marked signs to indicate time changes and support the storytelling.
